Hello, my bike came with no oil pump so I'm installing a used one that pumps correctly (almost 10mm at 200 turn wide open).
Do these lines look routed properly and is the black line that goes to the cylinder seem too long? It came with the pump.

Depends somewhat on which model we are talking about, but generally, they route down and over the back of the engine case, but in front of the swing arm pivot tube.
I have a 1mm over NOS piston kit that came with thin flat wire ring expanders. Do you guys use these? Thanks.

Absolutely ... the engineers that designed these rings are a heck of a lot smarter then the Joe Blows out there that say "don't use them".
Here are some of the benefits they give . . .
Less noise ... they cushion the crown of the piston from slamming against the cylinder wall (esp. @ tdc) ... during combustion
Less piston rock ... which translates into better ring sealing.
Helps keep the rings from getting stuck in place from carbon build-up

I recently purchased a used oil pump and it looks to be in good shape, but it has a brass fitting installed in the top for the line going to the cylinder instead of a banjo bolt as shown on the parts diagram. Is this a cause for concern? What might this pump be from? It was listed as 214-13101-04-00 original Yamaha part. Thanks!
