Why levers have a round shape at the end.

Some useless trivia... If I remember correctly, the AMA started to require the installation of ball end levers in competition as a safety requirement around 1960. Most production bikes, all brands and countries of origin, did not come with ball end levers standard from the factory until the mid to late 1960's...
