How To Break In A New Top End - EnduroNut's Method

I am NOT saying to go out and hop on your new bike (or any freshly rebuilt motor), and just thoughtlessly nail the throttle ... some caution and common sense are in order here ... or you could possibly end up seizing it.

Explanation

Here's the low down ... When you break in a new motor, you are essentially trying to "wear-in" or "mate" metal to metal surfaces within the motor. Think of it in this way . . . It's similar (in principle) to lapping a 4-cycle engine's "valve seat" for better sealing ... you are wearing (by friction from the lapping compound) the two surfaces together so that they both match each other. Only after these two surfaces have worn together do you get the perfect valve seal. You're trying to do that very thing with the piston/cylinder & rings, but without the aid of the lapping compound ... th…

Easy start for your RT

Yes, that so and so can make a right mess of your ankle and smash your feet up pretty bad.

I got this idea from watching a video clip by Micou Meekoo on YouTube.

He lowered the compression by fitting several standard head gaskets .

So I started digging. There's was a company in Arizona who advertised on ebay.com , coppergasket63 and he will make you a copper head gasket to your desired thickness.

I got mine 3 times thicker than standard.

Get some Permatex , apply it to the gasket and let it dry overnight. When you're ready to do the job

Polishing Aluminium Parts

Hey guys,

I was wondering if someone wants to share a little how-to-guide on who to polish scratched and faded Aluminium parts like the engine/transmission cases or the wheelhubs. I saw some guys making those parts look like they just came out of the box, but since I'm new to that topic, I'm not sure how to achieve that (e.g. ideal sandpaper grit, polishing products etc.). Interested to hear what worked for y'all.

Thanks for the help!

Try some drano crystals mix with water and lightly scrub with Brillo pads. The acid in the draino cleans fairly well. But first check a small area.
