It has been discontinued. This part is a new reproduction of the original. The originals have been worn down, from being ridden. The part numbers are used for reference purposes only and no source of manufacture or supply is implied. These are a great replacement at a fair price. The part is comparable to the original. It is concourse correct for the 1968 Yamaha DT1 & a close replica for the other years/models. This sprocket has 44th teeth, which is what was standard on the 1968 Yamaha DT1. 44 tooth was not the standard for all models that this sprocket will fit. The front sprocket can be changed out, to achieve the desired gear ratio, while maintaining the original look. Made from 40Cr steel. It also has been heat treated and zinc plated. The heat treatment was done to improve durability, by significantly increasing its hardness and wear resistance. This steel sprocket will last much longer then any of the aluminum sprockets being made. After heat treatment, the steel has reached HRC 48-50. This means the steel has a hardness rating of between 48 and 50 on the Rockwell C scale. The weight of this sprocket is approximately 958 Grams +/- a few grams. It is highly recommended to replace the chain and sprocket at the same time, as a set. Using a worn chain, with this new sprocket, will wear the sprocket out quicker. The price includes sales tax.
