I’ve been thinking about rebuilding the engine on my 1973 CT3 175. I feel I can do it myself, but if there anyone (affiliated with this sight) that would be able/willing to do it I would be happy to pay for all parts, labor & shipping, etc..

Yes I certainly understand and I do not want to take the risk of letting somebody else do it at a shop. I feel I can handle it on my own with some guidance from you along the way. Once the season comes to an end this year I will start putting my ducks in a row and reach out to you about it then. Thanks, brother!
Sounds good Dave, I appreciate your input. Yes I will ride it this summer and if I could start planning on a rebuild for the winter, would that be something you can do or know somebody that could do for me?
You’re right that makes a lot more sense doing it in the winter. Here is a video.

I'm not trying to talk you out of re-building the engine, but I'm curious why you want to do this if it's still running good ? Does the engine make a lot of clattering noise . . . aka piston slap?
If you post a video of it idling, and maybe a couple of rev ups ... we can give our opinion if it's still healthy, or if it needs a rebuild.
Winter is usually the best time to do something major on the bike, as there will be months of down time from riding it anyway.
